Brauna is the newest member of our wonderful mare herd and we have been delighted to have her join our team. Brauna is a gorgeous 17h Canadian Sporthorse with an outstanding work ethic and lovely gaits.

Brauna's sire, Braveheart, is a very well bred Swedish Warmblood, whose grandsire competed for Sweden in both the 1960 and 1964 Olympics, as well as siring 11 licensed stallions who competed to international levels in both dressage and jumping. Braveheart’s young offspring have already shown their talents, winning several championships at Canadian Sport Horse shows. Braveheart won the CSHA 2004 BC Stallion of the Year award as well as the national stallion award given to the stallion who's offspring accumulated the most amount of showing points. As a competitor, Braveheart has been an accomplished eventer and dressage horse. Braveheart has schooled to Prix St. Georges and has been jumped over 4 foot courses. At his CSH inspection in 2000, he was scored 81.5%. One judge (Henselwood) stating "this is what we are looking for in a modern sport horse Stallion". At his Swana inspection, as a weanling, he was given 9-type, 9-legs and 8-movement. As a sire, Braveheart passes on generous character and loads of presence, with an incredible athletic ability.

Brauna's dam, Lou Lou Belle, is by the stallion Zodiak, a 17 HH Dutch Warmblood whose bloodlines speak for themselves. His sire, Ramiro Z, continually passed on his famous athletic abilities. As a competitor, Zodiak received top placings in his first season at Grand Prix in Dressage. Brauna has already shown an incredible aptitude for competition as she has received multiple Championships in her first season of dressage competition, with scores in the mid 70s, her highest being a 76%. At her first USDF Breeders Qualifier, Brauna received a double Mare Championship, with an incredible score of 79.3%. The judge, Debbie Riehl-Rodriguez remarked that she was 'well-porportioned with correct gaits and ground covering gaits.' In August of 2010, Brauna won the USDF Mid-States Breeders Series Mare Championship with an 82%, The Great Plains Championship in OK with an impressive 71%, and multiple High Point Awards throughout the season. She completed her season by becoming the Canadian Sporthorse DSHB Champion with an overall score of 79.3% and the Canadian Sporthorse First Level Champion with a 71.11%. An outstanding season for a lovely mare. Brauna's successes didn't stop there, as she went on to win the KCDS First Level Open Championship year end award and then tied for the championship at Training Level.

As Brauna entered into 2011, we quickly realized that she had a real aptitude for competition and a desire to really push forward. With multiple clinics behind her, Brauna had an incredible season at Second Level and finished the year as the Second Level Open Champion and the KCDS Horse of the Year. With solid scores in the 70s, Brauna's work ethic has been unbeatable and she has continued to move forward as an incredible competitor. Unfortunately due to an injury, she has been retired to our breeding program and 2013 will bring us our first offspring from this incredible mare.

Update: Unfortunately Brauna's career was cut short competitively and she will be retired to the broodmare band as she suffered a career ending injury. With this new focus in place, we are excited to begin Brauna's breeding career, as we are confident she will produce foals with her incredible work ethic and abilities.
